All Set For Chonburi Buffalo Racing Festival 2011
Chonburi province is gearing up to launch the annual Buffalo Racing Festival from October 7 to October 11 with races and activities galore plus local OTOP products on sale.
Chonburi, September 27, 2011 [PDN]; Mr. Pakkathorn Teanchai Deputy Provincial Governor Chonburi, Mr. Decho Kongchayasukkawat, Lord Mayor Chonburi and Mrs.Passalin Savetrat Assistant Director TOT Central and Easter Thailand, Chonburi and Mr. Pisut Pitanusorn Deputy Mayor of Chonburi Provincial Management released the news about the annual Chonburi Buffalo Racing Festival 2011.
Mr.Pakkathorn Teanchai , Deputy Provincial Governor, Chonburi, said that the buffalo racing festival is an important old tradition, a heritage that the people of Chonburi cherish.
The activities on the racing day on October 11 are highlighted by the buffalo race divided into three categories depending on the size of the buffalo: small, medium and large size buffalos. Also, the most beautifully decorated buffalo competition and the funniest buffalo competition.
The Lord mayor of Chonburi iterated buffalo racing festival this year runs from October 7-11. He also emphasized on the exciting and delectable activities like Thai sports and sales of OTOP products including food items from each district, each “amphur” in Chonburi.
He said, Chonburi province would like to invite all interested Thais and foreigners to experience this Thai unique festival.
