    Bangkok to buriram

    Another question for ye olde thailande hands;

    We plan to travel from Bangkok to Buri Ram (for Rhanom Rung) . What's the best option? Bus from Mo Chit 2? Or should we rather take the train.

    Where would I be able to find departure times on the net?

    Once again; much obliged.

    That Gold class is a bit expensive. US$512 for a bus.

    I'd say rent out a car go through Khao Yai to Khorat and go to Phi Mai (60km north of Khorat) on the way.

    Get bus from Mo Chit to Korat. Then catch the bus to Buriram but tell them you want off at Nang Rong. In Nang Rong you make your way to the Hotel California. The Thai that owns that does guided tours to Phanom Rung. He's the best guy to assist in Nang Rong, and he speaks excellent English. I have his phone number if you want.
    A taxi from Bangkok will cost about 3,500-3,800 Baht to Nang Rong and take about just over 4 hrs. The bus will be much cheaper but take you 5-6 hours. But you do get a free cup of coke and a cake and the use of a toilet. Decisions decisions ?

    Yes, it's shaping up. Bus to Korat Stay there overnight OR onto Phimai and stay there overnight. Visit Phimai in the morning, the bus tot Buriram / Nang Rong.

    So we need one night hotel / guesthouse in Korat / Phimai and two nights in Buriram / Nang Rong. Suggestions anyone (swimmingpool much appreciated).

    No hotels with pools in Nang Rong. The Sabai Hotel in Korat is good, but your choice at the end of the day. Plenty of others. Journey, by bus, from Korat to Nang Rong 2-2.5 hours. Driving distance from Nang Rong to Phanom Rung 30-45 minutes.
