    Immigration/Visa experience...

The majority of us 'falangs' here in BKK have to visit this place at least once a year. I am not an expert in Thai visas at all. You have to ask William. Anyway, here are a few photos of my day at immigration.

The location, well sort of. The Immigration Office is just opposite of this soi.

The best place to stop first is the information desk.

Then to the main lobby. Generally the wait is not that long.

This is the section that I had to go to. Please, do not ask me why.

Since, I had some time to waste, I decided to go outside and have a look around.

I thought it would be a good idea to visit the bad boy part.

I was yelled at rather rudely both in Thai and English for the following photos.

These bad boys are being brought in. The image is rather poor, but the police were not being very polite.

Trying to help out with up-to-date information!

If everything else fails there is always the shop across the road from the Immigration Department that will help you out.

Do you think the bad boys were allowed to buy any souvenirs before they left?

You need to take a day trip to Sri Cha immigration in Chonburi.

    Smile Good People at Immigration.

Before we moved from Banchang to the Rangsit area we did all our immigration paper work at the MaTaPut Immigration station in Rayong. They were always friendly and very helpful to us. Great People working there. We have only been to the Bangkok Immigration station once for a 90 day report. they were also Very Helpful. IN over four years doing Immigration Requirements we have been treated very well and we are thankful for that.

A few years ago I got my first O retired visa at immig. in BKK, was a little hassle, had to verify income,[90,000 baht] which I already had. Then was told to go put some more money in my bank account and come back in 2 weeks, a little hassle the next year and had to have a new letter from US embassy, even tho it stated a lifetime pension, so pay again for notary service..
Since that time I have went to Chiang Mai and it is a lot easier and smooth sailing, Just return with the same papers I used last year plus a new medical form,, and I don't have to ever go to BKK again.

    Hi Hillbilly,
If you were at immigration, then what you saw are people being deported for an immigration offense.
These people, once they arrive in their home country, can jump on the first plane to Thailand and will be allowed in.
To get your name on the "black list", you must have commited a criminal offense.

From an old lag of IDC.

Went to immigration today had to do 90 day report.
it took almost 1 1/2 hour to get there from our place. Fed up Taxi Driver went 12 Km out of his way getting there. ( Thats another story for another time ) Walked into Immigrating slightly pissed off walked out Very Happy.
less than 15 minutes from the time we walked in the door to the time we departed. Good for another 90 days.
Immigration People very friendly and got the job done FAST Thanks to all who work at Immigration. Good People.

it's actually easier for me to get to immigration than it is to get to a post office.

Yes, if I lived in CM I would just go out there also, but for me, I come up in August and get a renewal, it is a 6 hour drive of a 10 hour bus ride to CM or a 5 hr bus ride to north terminal BKK and another hour into immigration, and they are a lot better to deal with in CM that they are in BKK.
