There's a lot of traffic checking out Thailand websites, also I have actually seen quite a few tourists where i live, so I think there will be a tourist season, albeit no where near as good as previous years

The problem is that these Thai idiots that have businesses, instead of reacting to the situation and becoming more competetive to attract tourists, simply hike up the price to cover the shortfall.

They try and skin their current customers, who then end up feeling that they have been robbed, (and will NEVER come back) Everything here is viewed in the present..there is no view of the future, return business etc,

I have had so many Thai areseholes working here while I built my home and cleared land, and virtually everyone of the idiots are short term rip off twats, they cannot see further than the end of their stupid greedy noses!

If they did a good job, they would get repeat business..but this never enters their stupid fucking heads!

And the funniest thing is, they shit you, and they think you are so stupid that you will swallow it...like they leave their phone number....call me if you need a good ass fucking again!

Probably the average intelligence of a Thai allows them to get away with it, to be honest i don't believe that, I think most Thais cannot have a confrontation..end of story, so the cunts get away with it!

Was out the other night and it was very busy around Sukhumvit. The hordes are arriving. Albeit slowly...

Dose that mean you'll be moving on to quieter hunting grounds soon?

No idea, but just got to get away from the great unwashed coming on their annual pilgrimage to worship at the temple of Nana. Drives me mental.

Yeah I remember that feeling of impending doom as November closes in, to many farang, the girls start to get cocky and the prices jump up. I always looked forward to may and June and everything getting back to normal

It's not too hard, all you have to do is PM dd and ask him for his Thai bank a/c details and you can do a simple bank transfer.
That is, if you live in Thailand, otherwise send more money to make up for the international bank transfer charges.

That's exactly right Miggins, most people with families will look around TD to check out the expat view of things on the ground, once they've read what the deal really is they wont risk Thailand at the moment, its way to volatile and it's gonna get worse I'd say.
Thailand is in for harder times for sure.
Absolute crap! I have so many families and couples booking here that I have trouble keeping up with bookings.

I'm glad you're doing so well Gus, but do you really think that all of the tourist trade is doing as well as you?

No of course there not, and you trying to put your up bookings as the standard for the whole of the tourist trade at the moment is pretty ludicrous to isn't it.

The people with families I know are checking out the situation in Thailand and not one of them are even thinking of coming to Thailand at the moment.

If you honestly believe that the tourists will be coming in their droves as they have done in recent years, with all the inner turmoil thats gripping Thailand at the moment then you must be a little delusional.

You dont work for the TAT do you.

Repeat business isn't worth as much as milking the customers you've got to hand for all you can.

No, I don't believe everyone is doing as well as I,am, but I have a relativity new, ( 4 years old business) that is finding it's niche market and offering medium cost accommodation in a quiet setting, 5 minutes away from either the action in Lamai and many of the tourist attractions in the quieter south/east section of the island.

And yes I get requests and bookings every day from families that are not frightened about the "inner turmoil that's gripping Thailand at the moment", so if you insist
"If you honestly believe that the tourists will be coming in their droves as they have done in recent years, with all the inner turmoil thats gripping Thailand at the moment then you must be a little delusional."

Obviously I Must be but it isn't affecting my business.

I go into Lamai occasionally and see for myself, that there are not many tourists in the Bars and Restaurants, and yes they are doing it hard. The taxi's that I use are also telling me how slow it is.
Recently I had a manager in a company car from a local Mercure high end resort come up to check my property out to see what the deal is,

But I also can see that the tourist market here is changing a great deal, from the single guys /bar scene type, that maybe don't have a job at the moment, and the 5 star type family, whose business is struggling to survive,to young couples that have good IT based jobs who can take time out and then go back to there jobs.

I have guests arrive here that have traveled the tourist road around SE Asia and once they arrive they don't want to leave.
And no, I do not work for TAT.

Well Gus, Lamai is nothing like it was if thats the case, only a year or so ago it was nothing more than a mongers haunt and the monger as you know will always keep coming, it had little to offer families and the only families that went to Lamai were the ones that didn't better.

    BTW,
So have all of the Girly Bars and Square Bars been moved out of town?

Do you know if Bills bar is still there and are Bill, and Kat his wife still together?

Is Noi stil running the Full moon bar, I heard she'd gotton really fat?

What are your rates on a monthly basis from july 2010?

Can you find me a reliable permanant nanny for the time I am there?

    Cheers

As in we, the the posters here that don't need to read your Trolling shit.
You may have worked in marketing (advertising) for years, but you still come across as the used car salesman that people hate.
I do not , by any means of the term "Milk customers" of which you seem proud to be able to do.

You may believe that I run a guest house, call it what you like, but it is probably much better than the bedsit you write your drivel from.
