This IP address is taken from a pool of IP addresses belonging to the ISP - you will get another one from the pool if you restart your modem and the one you previously had will go back into the pool for someone else to use.
In more expensive plans (mostly business plans) you will get a static IP address, an IP address which will not change when you rebbot the modem.
A few ISP's in the world are still lucky to have reserved enough of IP addresses to be able to give a static IP also for their cheaper service plans. |
I'm connected through a 4 ports router. To get a new IP adress, is it enough to reboot my computer ? Or should I restart the router as well ?
Beside cookies and the IP address, is there any other way to identify a computer on a network ?
