    change IP address?

BBC's iplayer for watching telly clips only works if you are in the UK. If your IP address is outside it will not work. Is there a free way of changing your Thai IP address to a UK one to fool the thing into working?

    NEWS
We've had to remove access to the BBC iplayer for the time being, it was chewing our bandwidth at an alarming rate, sorry about this. if we get hold of some more bandwidth we'll switch it back on.

not tried the other one yet

Sorry in advance for those dumb questions but does each computer has an unique IP address? Does it change everytime you connect to the internet or is it the same for a given connection ?

Each computer connected to a TCP/IP network has a unique IP address assigned to it.

Most Internet Service Providers (ISP) gives you a dynamic IP address when you login to them through your modem/router.
This IP address is taken from a pool of IP addresses belonging to the ISP - you will get another one from the pool if you restart your modem and the one you previously had will go back into the pool for someone else to use.

In more expensive plans (mostly business plans) you will get a static IP address, an IP address which will not change when you rebbot the modem.
A few ISP's in the world are still lucky to have reserved enough of IP addresses to be able to give a static IP also for their cheaper service plans.

I'm connected through a 4 ports router. To get a new IP adress, is it enough to reboot my computer ? Or should I restart the router as well ?

Beside cookies and the IP address, is there any other way to identify a computer on a network ?
The things we regret most is the things we didn't do

Why? Are you in a country where they have copyright police?

I believe so, according to the news they said downloaders should be worried.
I guess a small preventative measure would be better than risking it.
