I just found this which looks promising so I will post it in case anyone else has a use for it.
The maps are unlocked and the language glitches are explained

1. Thai address search function require Garmin Thai version and use Thai menu.
2. Choose only one language to draw map otherwise it will draw twice.
3. Unzip and rename to gmapsupp.img
