Hi all, I've purchased some land in Tha Luang and want a rough idea of what the cost per m2 will be for a 3 bed 2 bath bungalow.
The house area (foundations) will be 18m x 16m and that includes a 1 meter overhang for the roof
What i'm after is just a price only for the Foundations, external/internal finished block walls and a steel truss tiled roof, No windows, doors, bathroom fittings, floor finishes etc etc. Basically just a shell.
I thought long and hard about a turn key project, but i simply just do not have the time to be here to supervise it, and do not trust anyone to do that for me, i've heard some horror stories!
I intend to do all the work with some... [Read More]

You are an opportunity-focused expatriate, and you
are willing to relocate solely for the prospect of making
a great deal of money and doing something interesting.
You think nothing of charging in to an almost native,
potentially dangerous environment and care nothing
of dilapidated infrastructure, squalor. You are willing to learn the local language and don't
care if anyone else speaks English there... you love
the almost lawless, wild west persona and can literally
smell the money everywhere.

Thanks to many of you for your advise and comments, I finally found and bought the kitchen cabinets I wanted. Now, the next delima, judging by the rest of the walls in my house, could someone tell me how to hang cabinets on uneven walls? I'm concerned that the kitchen walls might have slightly high and low spots and the cabinets won't attach flat to the wall. You're advise and comments have been spot on in the past, so please give me your advise and comments again. Thanks.

My Thai wife and I had always hopped to be able to retire in Thailand. I recently lost my job and my wife is very unhappy at her place of employment and that, among other things have led us to explore a possible move to Thailand this summer.
We have $200000 dollars in the bank, a rental property that gives us $1000 a month and a firm offer of employment in Thailand for 40000 Baht a month.
The catch?
We have three boys ages 13, 11 and 10. I am afraid that school tuition's will eat up all our savings.
Any thoughts on the finances of our plan?
Thanks

Amazing. Quote: |
So, I went to some fast food places (I won’t say “restaurants”, just “places”), and picked up burgers and tacos, so I could compare them with the ads. (I’m always on the hunt for little projects like this. Stoked.) I brought the food home, tossed it into my photography studio, and did ad-style shoots, with pictures | ... [Read More]

My 15 year old son has just asked me if I know of any Bangkok based schools that uses the IGCSE curriculum and to teach their students.
As I am aware there are a number of teachers on this forum I would really appreciate if someone could explain to me what this term means and if there are any schools I could contact on my son's behalf.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Members,
Not sure if this has been covered before but I have been told that it is illegal to operate a restaurant or shop from a property on a Thai housing development.
I have been told that if the development is Tessabaan run then there are different rules from a private development.
Does anyone have any experience of this and the legalities involved.
